FAQ's

Can you provide models?

​

yes, We have a private Facebook group with over 300 members, that live locally to our academy and are patch tested & interested in modelling for our students and educators. If you are travelling over 50 miles, and with plenty of notice, we can try our best to arrange you a model for your training here with us. If you want a specific model with specific qualities (ie: specific brow/lip shape/ no previous SPMU etc), we cannot guarantee this and you are best bringing your own.

Is there accommodation near by?

​

Yes, there is plenty of accommodation nearby. We work closely with a local hotel, to bring you discounted rates for your stay whilst you train with us. We will state the details below, all you need to do is call up and let the hotel know that you are training with St. Helens Academy of Beauty, you will then receive the discounted rate. We do not receive any commission for this, but it is the closest & most convenient stay for you while you train with us, it's also newly renovated and super pretty too! If you fancy staying further afield, we are located on the same road as Thatto Heath train station, which is just a 10/15 minute train ride direct from Liverpool Central, for those of you who fancy staying in the city!

do we need to bring our own equipment?

​

whilst training at st.helens academy of beauty you have the full use of all our equipment and products you can be rest assured you wont be required to bring anything along with you unless you would like to use your own SPMU machine, we also welcome this .

Can I change course dates if something comes up?

​

Please visit our T&C's page for a detailed description on our Cancellations policy.

Is there parking available?

​

We are located in a small town centre, but at times can be busy. There is no direct parking at the front of our Academy as we are located on a main road. We are however situated opposite a small car park, and are surrounded by lots of residential streets too with no parking restrictions/ double yellows.

Do you provide kits?

​

If a kit is provided, this will be stated in the Course Description on our website.

​

 

What equipment and brands do you recommend?

​

Brand recommendations & product lists are given in your manuals, when you train with us (face to face and online), we also have a SHOP on our website full of essential products that we have tried and tested and recommend.

​

 

Are we provided refreshments/food on the courses?

​

Lunch isn't provided on your training days, we will however provide you with light refreshments and snacks. We have plenty of Cafe's/eateries/shops right by our Academy too, so there is plenty to eat and drink when you train with us.

​

 

Do we receive our certificate on the day of the course?

​

Yes, providing you have completed your theory/live practical assessment up to our passing criteria standards, failing this, we will offer you another seat on one of our future courses to re-try, but we do have a 100% pass rate, as we work with our students to make sure they leave with confidence and a full understanding of the treatment being trained in.

How long after sending case studies do we find out if we have passed the course?

​

This will apply to you if you're taking an online course with us, or have been asked to submit case studies after a practical training session with us. Once your case studies are submitted, you can expect a response within 1-3 working days, the team usually turn-around in less than 24 hours but please be patient as we do encounter some very busy periods with influx's of enquiries.

Can we buy hard copy certificates?

​

Again, another question for those of you who complete online training with us. Online courses come as standard with a certificate that is sent via email for download. You can however now purchase a hard copy from us, by submitting your digital download certificate when you purchase, so that we can make a carbon copy and send it via post to your door (high quality print, sent in protective packaging) - please visit our SHOP to purchase.

Is there an extra charge for models?

​

At the moment, we do not enforce a charge on models on training days. This may change in the future, but we will keep you updated if so.

​

 

Can we access the manuals before the course? 

​

If you are undertaking a course with us that requires pre-study, due to the nature of the course, we will send over your pre study documents in good time (always check junk/spam) as we will typically send via email. If you do not have any pre study documents, you will not have access to any manuals before your training date with us.

​

 

I have used all my downloads.. what do I do?

​

If you bought online courses with us between 2019-2021, you will be on our previous system, in which case you have download limits that exceed after 3 downloads. This is not a problem, just email us if this happens and we can reset for you right away.

Who are you accredited by?

​

We are Fully Accredited by Beauty standards org, The CPD Group & Beauty Industry Approval

​

 

Will I be able to obtain insurance after completing your courses?

​

Yes, we recommend Insync, Policy Bee & Salongate.

​
